oh Jill Andrew ... you co-founded the Body Confidence Canada Awards yet the bodies of ballet dancers made you uncomfortable riding the ttc? Don't "you want images that depict YOU on the move?"

The frame of your experiences and outlook on life are what will dictate what you take away from the wonderful textures and nuances of Doors Without Keys. No written placard could do that for you.

...one conversation that sticks out in my mind was when someone mentioned to me that events are awesome, but "you can't put it on your resume."
I'm excited to go to school today, been working for months, door locked
I cant wait to see my friends' faces when I break out this clock!

When I worked at a bookstore, there were two authors whose books ranked amongst the most stolen: Chuck Palahniuk, Murakami Haruki, and the bible, who's authorship I will not speculate but you get the idea.

“It was a daunting concept at first,” says Rowntree. “It was hard because theatre isn’t usually a solo thing.”

"The idea with Animal Kingdom was to create a beautiful book which people would enjoy colouring as much as I enjoyed putting together. Something people would love to look at and want to show others and which once finished they would want to keep afterwards." - Millie
Sherif Badr with Ashari
Amidst the cosplay events in Toronto, you may see giant, stunning (sometimes glowing) wings in the distance above the heads of a crowd of photographers - that heroine in the middle is often Ashari (cosplay alias).

“Terror and Beauty” is apparent in every work by Bacon and Moore, as both artists drew inspiration for their work from personal encounters with war and its death and ideals.

Taka Sudo, a Japanese born artist residing in British Columbia, recently displayed his work at Hashtag Gallery's 2nd year anniversary with his show "Kinetic Moments." ...Maybe we'll get to the bottom of this kind of epic inspiration after all.

Giger’s fascination with sex and the machine resulted in a “biomechanical” representation of the two in much of his work, something that often makes the audience of his work uncomfortable and squeamish, which is not unlike watching Nine Inch Nails Happiness In Slavery (1992) even after the umpteenth time of seeing it.

I’ve been visiting the One of a Kind Show annually for a few years now. It’s a huge exhibition held twice a year in Toronto – made up of artists, designers and makers - both seasoned and rising stars. It used to take me hours to go through the exhibit, and I would still feel like there wasn’t enough time to see everything properly.
We're no strangers when it comes to the anime/comic world, so when we found out about Silver Snail's hero inspired espresso sleeves, we got excited. Black Canary is the name of the little cafe inside this iconic comic shop and they're hooking up the first 200 people ordering caffeine today with sleeves that'll set your senses tingling.
I didn't find Jonathan looking for the artists that studied at the most prestigious schools. I could care less whether he has the most prestigious mentor or not, and nobody really looks at an artist's resume seriously. When I was creeping on Instagram looking for artists like Ilichna Morasky that could create accompanying art for something as wild as Beyond Measure however, Jono's work stood out.
By Sherif Badr
There is something out of this world about Ilichna Morasky, something strange and familiar in each piece she makes that draws you in and makes you wonder what it all might mean. Seemingly soft spoken with a glorious smile she can't seem to contain, we approached the artist and mentioned that we needed art for that crazy short story I wrote about the doctors and the suicide and all that madness. Not everybody can draw accompanying art for something that abstract and complex, it takes a very talented person.
The truth caught me further off than when the doctors asked
“HAVE YOU HAD THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE?”
Suicide, doctors, wackiness and potential.
“Nate has been a mentor of mine for a few years now. He has definitely lent me advice on multiple occasions in regards to photography, and his work has inspired me to continue to grow and push my own work.”-hippiemanvan.com
