Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a refund policy?

If you are not satisfied with the program after the first two weeks, we will issue you a full refund.

Who is this program for?

This program is perfect for the Beginner+ guitarist that wants to quickly take their guitar playing to the next level.

When will the program start?

Wednesday, January 29, 2025: Students will receive Video Lesson 1. Wednesday, February 5th, 2025: 8pm EST is our first Live Zoom Meeting.

What’s the difference between "Live Participant" and "Listen and Watch"?

Live Participants can interact in the Live Zoom Meetings, ask questions and also play their guitar during the meetings. If any Live Participant has a problem, we can quickly identify the issue(s) and correct things on the spot. If that doesn't help, a student can request a 1 on 1 Zoom meeting with Bob.

For "Listen and Watch" participants, you receive all the lesson material, all the Video Lessons and can attend the Live Zoom calls but you won't be able to interact at the meeting (listen and watch only mode). This option is great if budget is an issue. And if you are having a problem or have questions, we will do our best to help you in the Group Community Page.

How much do I have to know on guitar to be in this Program?

You should be able to have a basic understanding with reading tab, know some chords and be able play guitar (not a rank beginner). If you are just starting out and have sore fingers, we don't recommend this program, but do recommend taking free beginner courses at FingerpickingForBeginners.com

What if I can’t make it to a Zoom session?

All Zoom sessions will be recorded and shared with participants, so you can catch up if you miss a meeting.

Can I switch from Listen and Watch to Live Participant mid-program?

Unfortunately, spots for Live Participants are limited, so we can’t accommodate mid-program switches. However, if an opening happens, we'll let you know.

What’s the Beta Tester discount?

As a Beta Tester, you’ll receive a special discounted price for this program in exchange for your feedback and hopefully a glowing testimonial. After our Beta Group is finished, we will be offering the same program to the general public for $497 for Live Participants, and $255 for the Listen and Watch.

How much time will I need to dedicate for practice?

Everyone is different- some of you may only need very little practice time while others might need more. Although the program is easy and paced very slow, we recommend practicing at least 20 minutes a day. It's important if you're planning more practice time, to take a lot of breaks.

Can I join if I’ve never played fingerstyle guitar before?

The song we are learning can also be played with a pick! So yes, if you know how to pick single string notes on the guitar or you want to learn, you can definitely join in!

What if there's something in the song that I just can't play?

This is what's good and unique about this program! Adjustments designed just for you can be accommodated on the spot (for the Live Participants). We will also make customized sheet music for you personally. This is another big advantage to joining as a Live Participant.

What kind of additional support is available outside of Zoom sessions?

Live Participants can request a one-on-one Zoom lesson with Bob if needed, and Listen and Watch participants can reach out in the Group Community page for help.

How will I access the weekly video lessons and material?

All material will be shared through our private Group Community Page at FingerpickingForBeginners.com . We will also let you know by email when we have a lesson ready as well as sending you the Zoom invite links via email.

What Skills can I expect to learn from just 1 song?

The song "Fireflies" that we are learning, is a "single note" melody style of picking and very different from learning a pattern or strumming.

Here's a list of skills that we will introduce during the course of the program:
1) transitions / seeing ahead
2) accuracy
3) timing
4) brush stroke
5) pull offs
6) slides
7) harmonics
8) dynamics
9) legato (sustain playing or 'floaters')
10) reaching 180bpm

Will there be another chance to take this course in the future?

Yes, but not at the Beta Tester price. $497 for Live Participants and $255 for Listen And Watch Members. It's still a great deal for all that you will be getting!
