What is BURN The Musical?

The star of this is the morning star, Lucifer or "Iblis" - his name in BURN. How does God’s favorite creation turn bad? Let’s sing about it.

The BURN Musical is the origin story common to the Abrahamic faiths (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) but from the perspective of the villain, the "fallen angel" Iblis or more simply known as "the devil." With heavy inspiration from popular music, from Hip Hop to Boy Bands, this is a concept album that was made to delight listeners looking to hear a witty new perspective on this timeless story that billions of humans believe to be true.

Draft 1 PLAYLIST 👇👇👇

The first draft of Burn The Musical used existing instrumentals from popular music artists, while later drafts are completely original.

My favorite rap freestyle was done by Black Thought on a show called Hot 97

In this freestyle, they use the existing instrumental from Mobb Deep’s “The Learning (Burn).”

For the next 10 minutes, Black Thought proceeds to give perhaps the most amazing freestyle ever heard, and it has nothing to do with the original song though the instrumental evokes a certain emotional vibe and really just provides a canvas for the words.

For the first draft of Burn The Musical, I've used existing instrumentals from every genre of music as well as several musicals. They've all been heavily altered, lengthened or shortened, in order to fit the scene. There's dialogue and intermissions that I wrote in entirety.

Have you heard of the 4 chord medley? Something I learned playing guitar.. there is a common progression of 4 chords that are used in tons of songs. So what I'm saying is a lot of music we think is unique is actually using similar chords as other existing music. "All the greatest hits from the past 40 years just use 4 chords"

What I think matters is the content - the story being told.

And I've definitely put forward an original wild musical that explores belief and doubt.
